There is a new check-in policy for Do-It-Yourselfer’s this season. If you are planning to perform any paintwork, you are now required by the State of Maryland to comply with VOC (volatile organic compound) specifications. What this means is that when you are ready to haul your boat for bottom paint, contact our office first to be sure that you are purchasing paint that is allowed under the new regulation. Then when you arrive, check-in and we will provide an authorization to stick on your paint can so you are cleared to start working. That’s it, nothing more to it, and most of the top paint manufacturers are already ahead of the curve and producing products that comply.
